The Hostel is in Itagua – Ubatuba which is one of the most well-known area in the city. The area has convenient access to restaurants, markets, bars, and shopping stores.In addition, it’s only walking-distance away from beaches such as Tenorio, Grande, and Vermelha. If you visit their website, you can see that the main objective of the hostel is to make you feel home. I have to tell you that the team is definitely making you feel home! When I arrived in Ubatuba, my purpose was to stay only for 2-3 days and continue to Sao Paulo. However, I ended up staying here for the whole week. Because I felt very welcomed from the first moment and blend in very easily.

All the management team, volunteers, and guests are just like one big family. Especially, if you are a backpacker who is planning to visit Ubatuba along your trip, visit Hostel Trópico de Capricórnio. Because you already have friends waiting for you there.

Another thing that surprised me about the hostel was it was very multicultural even during the off-season. All travelers know that most hostels are not bust when it’s the off season for the location. However, Hostel Trópico de Capricórnio had guests from more than five different countries. Moreover, the hostel also offers camping tents which was very cool blend. So, you have opportunity to experience camping in Ubatuba, Sao Paulo. If you don’t want to spend your nights in shared room, you can simply enjoy camping in the garden!
